Benek is my Mum's cat, and last summer had a terrible accident - he was crushed in an automated driveway gate.

This resulted in two badly broken paws, one of which was also dislocated.

The costs up until the first surgery only, were already higher that a thousand euros, and that doesn't even include consecutive visits and future physical therapy, which the vets say will be necessary.

Unfortunately, since the accident, Benek suffered multiple complications.

First, he needed a corrective surgery on the dislocated joint. Then, one of his wounds got infected, which required an antibiotic treatment. Most recently, one of the wires holding the bones together snapped, which meant he had to have another surgery.

It's very clear how sad and exhausted he is by the constant interventions and struggles with moving around, which breaks my heart.

I feel the same for my Mum, who is constantly taking care of him, and spending more and more on the treatments she's struggling to afford. By starting this fundraiser, I am hoping to take the worry off her shoulders, and raise the money for treatment by Christmas.
