I'm determined to fight brain cancer and get my life back

2 months before your 55th birthday, what can you say when your life falls apart in an instant?

That you love your family, your children, the place you live, your friends and the time you spend with them. Hiking and cycling, listening to music, reading books and having long talks with her children.

Suddenly everything changed.

Headaches, fatigue, speech problems. Hospital, CT scan and diagnosis - brain tumour. It all happened very quickly. Two weeks later I had my operation at the Neurosurgery Clinic. After the operation my speech improved and I walked around the clinic several times a day to get in better condition.

In mid-July, we found out that my disease was Gliobastoma, which is the most aggressive brain tumour and the average survival time for patients is 10-15 months.

The next two days were horrible.

I decided to fight the disease as long as I could. In August I will start radiotherapy and chemotherapy, I will eat a strict diet, try to keep my weight and fitness as well as my inner balance and cheerfulness. However, no further treatment is available in Hungary.

Immunotherapy in Germany

After those terrible days, I read that there is an immunotherapy treatment available in Germany that can show good results for Glioblastoma patients. The vaccine therapy is personalised and lasts for months to support the immune system in the fight against cancer.

I decided to participate in the programme.

For me, this treatment will ensure that I can spend more years with my family and friends and work again. However, treatment abroad is not covered by my national social security. The German clinical immunotherapy costs 80 000 EUR, the full amount of which I cannot finance. I would like to ask for help and support for this.
