Trembling, circulatory problems, nausea, stomach cramps, diarrhea, anxiety—a 13-year-old dog should not have to go through something this awful. Our delicate senior dog Winja, a good-natured schnauzer mix from the animal welfare organization Tierhilfe Hoffnung e.V., recently ate something poisonous in the park. Someone had mixed raw marrow bones, chicken bones, dry bread, and onion strips with unknown substances and hidden them in the park under soil and moss. My sweet Winja ate some of it and soon showed symptoms of poisoning. We didn't have much time. We had to rush to the veterinary clinic, as there was imminent danger. Winja has a weak heart and a collapsed trachea; she is simply a rather old dog. She was getting worse by the minute, and the wonderful staff and veterinarians at the clinic proceeded gently but decisively. My soulmate Winja, who has been by my side for almost her entire life, was saved by the clinic. Medication to stabilize her circulation, to get the stomach contents out, then medication to treat the pain, stomach cramps, and poisoning. We were lucky. Winja brought up all the stomach contents and responded very well to the treatment. 

She slept a lot for the first two days, but on day 3, my beloved gray schnauz was back to her old self. But misfortune rarely comes alone.

Dear friends, please help us rescue this rescue dog again. Normally, we never ask for anything for ourselves, but instead promote support of other charities. Some of you loyal friends support us regularly. But this time, we are asking for help for our little old Winja. Due to my poor health, I lost my job and my income over the last few months and suffered a family emergency. Now I can't even afford the bill for the veterinary clinic and the annual dog tax. The veterinary clinic bill is €349.29, and I also have to pay the annual dog tax in Augsburg for Winja, which is €87—but how? With what money?
