Dear Supporter,
Five Hungarian secondary school students and their three mentors are preparing for the FIRST Global Challenge 2026 world competition, which will be held in Incheon, South Korea, from 7 to 10 October 2026.
The FIRST Global Challenge is the ‘Olympics of robotics’: more than 190 countries each field a national team to enable young people to find engineering solutions to global challenges. The competition was founded by Dean Kamen, the inventor of the Segway, with the aim of inspiring young people’s enthusiasm for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
Our results to date:
- 2017, Washington D.C. — 1st place (157 teams)
- 2022, Geneva — 3rd place (163 teams)
- 2023, Singapore — 2nd place (191 teams)
- 2025, Panama City — 4th place (195 teams)
Preparations for the 2026 team are already underway, but we need funding to cover travel and competition costs.
What the funding is for (6,500,000 HUF ~ 18,000 EUR):
- Flight tickets, transfers, travel and accommodation (5 students + 3 adults): 3,000,000 Ft
- Entry fee (FGC registration, 10,000 USD): 3,500,000 Ft
