Who we are and what we do

We are a team that has been bringing reading activities to nurseries and primary schools across the Czech Republic for over 12 years, under the patronage of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and a number of regional governors. Our aim is simple yet fundamental: to awaken in children a love of books, stories and the values that shape their character.

What’s happening right now

Every year we visit hundreds of nurseries and schools, where we give children books with a personal dedication and a sponsor’s label. For many children, these are the first books they ever hold in their own hands.

However, a major change is coming this year: Knihulínek, a gentle, glowing character who will become the main motivator for reading, will also be joining us for the final activities. The children already love him — even though they haven’t even seen him in person yet.

Why this matters

Today’s children are growing up in a world full of screens. Books are often distant to them, sometimes even alien.

Knihulínek is changing that.

His presence can awaken joy, imagination, curiosity and, above all, positive emotions in children, which are key to the development of their personalities.

When a child sees that a book ‘lights up’ Knihulínek’s tummy, they begin to believe that stories have power. And that is a moment that can influence their whole life.

How the funds raised will be used

Your donation will help:

• complete the Knihulínka puppet, including the light on its tummy,
• produce plush Knihulínkas for nurseries across the Czech Republic (small, medium, large),
• purchase books for children, who will receive them free of charge,
• fund visits to schools, nurseries, hospitals and facilities for children with special needs,
• expand the programme so that Knihulínek reaches places where there is the least joy.

We provide all activities completely free of charge. We cover the costs of transport, time and preparation ourselves.

That is why we are asking for your support — so that Knihulínek can bring light, joy and books to all children, without exception.
