Description
Every kilometre counts – on your marks, get set, go… the fundraising campaign is underway!
211 kilometres for FAPF!
In 2025, our running team plans to run around Lake Balaton for the sixth time, but this year we’ve set ourselves a new challenge alongside the run. In addition to running the 211 kilometres of the race, our further aim is to raise a donation of 5 euros (~2000 Ft) for every kilometre, with which we wish to support the work of the Füzesabony Animal Protection Foundation (FAPF).
A small team from the Füzesabony Animal Welfare Organisation rescues dogs and cats that have been thrown out onto the streets, starved, sick and often tortured dogs and cats from the darkest corners of Heves County, and provides them with medical and surgical care – which in most cases amounts to life-saving treatment – offering them new hope for a better life.
During our fundraising campaign, we are seeking supporters across a 211-kilometre stretch.
I am personally involved in the work of the Füzesabony Animal Welfare Society, as both our dogs came to us thanks to their help. Our dog Szotyi was rescued from freezing to death as a tiny puppy, along with his mum and siblings, whilst our dog Alfa was found in a garden, having clearly been thrown over the fence by someone. Fortunately, he landed in the garden of an animal lover who, although unable to keep the new arrival, asked the Foundation for help.
With your donations, more animals in need can be saved from the jaws of death.
You can follow the rescues carried out by the Füzesabony Animal Welfare Group on their Facebook page.
Help them to help others.
Thank you!
