We are asking for your help for Laci, who is 54 years old, a loving husband, a father of two children, and is currently fighting one of the toughest battles of his life against a serious brain tumour.

Laci has always been a devoted husband, a wonderful father and a respected colleague. He has worked hard all his life, looked after his family, and has always been someone you could count on. Those who know him recognise him as a kind, responsible, helpful and caring person.

On 16 July 2025, Laci underwent brain surgery. Based on the results of the histological examination, he was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (WHO grade IV), IDH-wildtype, with EGFR amplification – in other words, an aggressive malignant brain tumour.

Following the operation, Laci underwent radiotherapy, chemotherapy and further oncological treatments. However, in many cases, the treatment of glioblastoma does not end with the initial operation, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. It is an ongoing battle, during which we must continually reassess which further treatment options might offer a chance to slow the progression of the disease, improve his condition and allow him to spend as much precious time as possible with his family.

That is why we are not giving up.

We are currently seeking further treatment options for Laci both in Hungary and abroad. In particular , we would like to seek a second opinion and explore treatment options at neuro-oncology centres and university hospitals in Germany with extensive experience.

However, this is a long and complex process.

First, we need to compile and forward Laci’s complete medical records, including surgical and histological reports, documentation of his oncological treatments, and the original MRI images. These will be examined in detail and compared by specialists abroad.

They will then be able to decide whether further specialised tests are required – such as detailed molecular or genetic analysis – and what further treatment options might be available for Laci.

The options may vary depending on the individual medical findings: further drug-based or targeted treatments, immunotherapy approaches, clinical trials, specialised neuro-oncological therapies, or other treatments available at specialist centres.

At this stage, we do not know which course of action will be the right one for Laci. This is precisely why it is so important that we consult as many centres as possible with the appropriate expertise and explore every realistic treatment option.

However, the costs of second opinions from abroad, specialised diagnostic and molecular tests, treatments, medication, as well as travel and extended stays abroad, can be extremely high.

That is why we have launched this fundraising campaign.

Our aim is to raise 100,000 euros, which we intend to spend exclusively on expenses related to Laci’s medical treatment and care: medical consultations abroad, diagnostic and molecular tests, treatments, medication, travel, accommodation and any costs directly related to these.

We are not asking anyone to promise us a miracle. What we hope to achieve is for Laci to have access to every medically sound option that might still offer him a chance.

To our family, Laci is not just a diagnosis. He is a husband, a father, a friend, a colleague – the man who has spent his whole life looking after others, and for whom we must now do everything we can.

This is Laci’s battle now, but we would like him not to have to fight it alone.

Every donation – no matter the amount – brings us closer to the next test, medical opinion or treatment.

Following the operation, Laci underwent radiotherapy, chemotherapy and further oncological treatment. However, the battle against glioblastoma often does not end with the initial operation, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. It can become an ongoing struggle in which doctors must continually assess what further treatment might help slow the progression of the disease, improve quality of life and give the patient more precious time with their family.

We refuse to give up.

We are now searching both in Hungary and abroad for further treatment options for Laci. In particular, we are seeking expert opinions and possible treatment at highly experienced neuro-oncology and university centres in Germany.

This is a long and complex process.

First, Laci’s complete medical records must be gathered and submitted, including surgical and pathology reports, oncology records and the original images from his MRI scans. Specialists abroad will then need to review and compare these materials in detail.

Based on this evaluation, further specialised testing may be recommended, including detailed molecular or genetic analyses, in order to determine which additional treatment options might be suitable for Laci.

Depending on his individual medical findings, possible options may include further drug or targeted therapies, immunotherapy approaches, clinical trials, specialised neuro-oncological treatments or other therapies available at experienced centres.

At this stage, we do not yet know which path will be the right one for Laci. This is precisely why it is so important for us to consult experienced specialists and explore every medically reasonable option available to him.

International specialist consultations, advanced diagnostic and molecular testing, treatments, medication, travel and potentially extended stays abroad can incur very substantial costs.

This is why we have launched this fundraiser.

Our fundraising target is €100,000. The funds will be used exclusively to cover expenses related to Laci’s medical care: international specialist consultations, diagnostic and molecular tests, medical treatment, medication, travel, accommodation and other directly related costs.

We are not asking anyone to promise us a miracle. What we are trying to do is ensure that Laci has access to every medically reasonable option that could still offer him a chance.

To our family, Laci is not just a diagnosis. He is a husband, a father, a friend and a colleague – a man who has spent his life looking after others and who now needs others to stand by him.

This is Laci’s battle, but we do not want him to have to fight it alone.
