Dear Supporters!

I welcome everyone who takes the time to read my story and I am grateful in advance for all the attention and support. It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing to you now, but I feel that I cannot solve my situation without help.

In the summer of 2023, a 5 cm tumour was discovered on my right ovary and unfortunately it was already known at that time that the disease was in an advanced stage. Chemotherapy treatments helped to slow the progression, but surgery was not scheduled until January 2024. Due to the extent of the tumour, my ovaries, uterus, peritoneum and parts of my large and small bowels and diaphragm were removed as a medical necessity.

After the operation, I underwent further chemotherapy and am currently on medication. Unfortunately, as a BRCA positive person, the chance of developing breast cancer is about 80% due to a mutation in my DNA. Therefore, I am waiting for preventive surgery to reduce this risk, but the plastic surgery to preserve my femininity is not covered by social security, so I would have to pay for it myself.

The past year has been extremely stressful for my family, both financially and emotionally. Although I am now back at work, my constant joint pain, which is a side-effect of the treatment, limits my workload and I am unfortunately unable to take on as much as I should.

That is why I am now turning to you and humbly asking for your help. Every contribution, no matter how small, would be a huge help in enabling me to continue to fight for my health and to preserve the last shreds of my femininity.
