Imagine being fully aware of everything happening around you… but unable to speak, move, or express even your most basic needs.

Someone very close to me is living this reality. His mind is sharp, but ALS has taken his ability to communicate. This project is born out of love, necessity, and the belief that technology can restore human dignity.

I am developing a powerful, low-cost assistive communication device that gives people with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) a voice — using just their eyes.

This system will allow them to:

• 🔘 Speak with their eyes using gaze tracking + AI
• 💬 Select phrases, type messages, or chat with an AI assistant
• 🔊 Hear their words spoken aloud in natural Greek
• 🧠 Use a smart virtual keyboard with predictive text
• 🏠 Control their environment (lights, music, call for help)
• 🚨 Trigger an emergency alert with a specific blink pattern
• 📺 Play games or ask questions to a built-in AI companion

At the heart of the system is the NVIDIA Jetson Orin, a powerful AI computer used in robotics and self-driving cars. Combined with advanced eye-tracking, large language models (LLMs), and natural speech synthesis, it becomes a fully offline, personalized communication hub — running on Linux, powered by Python and open-source tools.

The device will be:

• ✅ SD storage, cables, mounts, power supplies
• ✅ Enclosure, accessories, and software setup tools
