Three months ago, on 28 February, following an eye examination with my daughter Adelina, aged 4 years and 9 months, we discovered that she has a very rare but quite aggressive form of cancer: retinoblastoma. The tumour is located in her right eye and, sadly, the doctors have told us that she will no longer be able to see out of that eye, but all they can do is save her eye and destroy the tumour so that it does not spread to any other part of her body, particularly the brain. We were referred to Marie Curie Hospital in Bucharest, where we began chemotherapy sessions to try to stop the disease, and now, after four sessions, the doctors have advised us to go to Lausanne, Switzerland, to continue the treatments and investigations, as the chances of saving the eye are much higher abroad. A rather costly period lies ahead, given the expenses and the journeys we will have to make, which is why I wish to appeal for your help, both spiritual and financial (I must admit I was ashamed to ask for help), but I believe with all my heart that God will support us and that He, the Supreme Physician, will touch her body.
