My name is Florin Dimofte and I am the father of a 7-year-old girl. For her sake, I try to stay strong... even when life has knocked me down time and time again.

I live with type 1 diabetes, neuropathy, retinopathy, high blood pressure and have suffered several strokes. On top of all this, I struggle daily with anxiety and depression.

These aren’t just diagnoses on a piece of paper. There are days when I can barely function. There are nights when I don’t sleep. There are moments when my child looks at me and wishes I could be the ‘dad I used to be’ again… and I don’t know what to say to her.

Today I live on a disability pension of just 1,281 lei. It’s an amount that barely covers survival, not a normal life.

But I don’t want to stay like this. I don’t want to depend on benefits for the rest of my life. I want to work. I want to get back on my feet.

📌 My dream is to open a small fast-food business (smoker & barbecue). It’s the only realistic way I can work at my own pace, given my health. I’m not looking for a shortcut. I’m looking for an opportunity.

I want to be able to tell my little girl, with my head held high:

“Daddy didn’t give up.”

I’m not asking for pity.
