*We are putting the fundraising campaign on hold until the puppy has had the CT scan kindly provided by the Homeless Animal Hospital, and we will resume it if we need to order a special wheelchair for him to support his hind legs whilst walking.

Today, 14 July 2026, the Lăbuțele lui Brezoi Association took in a puppy that had been hit by a car in a village in Tulcea County; the case was reported to the association by the police. The association’s chairperson took the puppy for a check-up and an X-ray, which showed no fractures.

However, the puppy cannot walk and is dragging itself along. Its hindquarters cannot be moved. The vet has recommended further investigations, specifically a CT scan in Bucharest. We are forced to ask for financial help to cover this.

Firstly, today’s expenses must be covered, totalling 820 lei, of which 190 lei were donated specifically for the puppy, and 630 lei were taken from donations earmarked for neutering, which we will need soon. Added to this are the costs of the new investigations, amounting to approximately 2,000 lei, transport costs for which we do not yet have an estimate, and whatever follows once we have the results regarding his condition. Therefore, we urgently need to raise at least 600 euros = 3,000 lei.

This situation is far beyond the association’s means, but given that no one else has stepped in – neither when the case was first reported nor when we asked for help in taking on the case – we are his only chance. It is already difficult for someone responsible for so many animals to care for a paralysed dog with special needs, but it is even more difficult to cover the costs.
