My name is Luiza Mandoiu, and I'm a mum who's passionate about supporting women and mothers who are isolated. Today, to celebrate my birthday, I'm appealing to your generosity for a cause that touches me deeply.

The current situation is alarming: there are 2 million single mothers in France today, and one in two of them say they can't count on anyone. These women, often cut off from their family and friends, find themselves faced with an immense mental burden, with no support and no reference points. The isolation of single mothers is a daily challenge that can be overwhelming and demoralising.

Why is this so important to me?

Because I've become a mother and, like so many others, I've experienced the vulnerability that comes with motherhood. It's an overwhelming experience, and I'm deeply aware that every mother deserves to feel supported and surrounded. I think it's unfair that any woman should have to face this ordeal alone. Marraine&Vous is an association that makes a difference by supporting these mothers. It offers them sponsorship by a sponsor family, who accompanies them for several years. It's an invaluable human adventure, which enables women to come out of isolation and receive the support they so desperately need.

This year, to celebrate my birthday, I've decided not to receive any presents. Instead, I'm inviting you to support this cause that is so dear to me.

The funds raised will be used to support this initiative by enabling Marraine&Vous to continue to offer practical solutions to these mothers:

• Financing family sponsorship, which links a lone mother to a sponsor family, providing moral and practical support.
• Developing support programmes to offer a network of help to women who need it.
• Supporting social and educational activities to help these families rebuild and strengthen together.

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Every contribution, whether financial or in time, makes a real difference to the lives of these women and their children. It's thanks to you that this wonderful adventure can continue and grow.
