My name is Adri, and I teach English Culture and Civilisation and Theatre at the Deva Children’s Palace, Orăștie branch.

From 5–7 June, together with the Cont.rar Association, I would like to run a series of theatre-based development workshops at the “I. L. Caragiale” National Theatre in Bucharest for 25 teenagers from three small communities across the country: Orăștie, HD, Sihlea, VR and Suceava, SV.

As 5 June is also my birthday, I would like to dedicate my day to this cause.

I believe that learning about yourself and the world around you through theatre is a successful approach for teenagers because you get to know yourself by creating moments together with others, by allowing yourself to be, by discovering yourself moment by moment through theatrical techniques and an exceptional environment.

Then, all these sessions will spread locally within the community, in schools, across the county and so on...

It is a project close to my heart that I believe in, and I am sure you will support 25 teenagers in experiencing authentic cultural activities.

This sum will help us cover transport, meals and accommodation in Bucharest for a period of three days, as well as promotional items (notebooks, pens, T-shirts). And four dedicated teachers will accompany them so that, through dedicated workshops, they can pass on what they have learnt to other fellow teachers in the community, in nearby schools and across the county.
