Description

"Andrei's Last Toy"

Andrei is only 6 years old. He likes toy trains, stories about dinosaurs and playing hide-and-seek with his younger sister, Maria. They live with their mother in a room in a social centre, after their father died in a work accident two years ago. Since then, their life has been full of challenges.

Their mother, Ana, does everything she can. She cleans stairs, irons clothes, and does odd jobs wherever she can. But sometimes, even that is not enough. There are days when they have nothing to put on the table, and evenings when Andrei asks his mother if Santa Claus will find him again this year, which breaks her heart.

Andrei was recently diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia. The doctor told Ana that he urgently needs treatment at a clinic abroad. The costs are enormous for a single mother who can barely afford a bus ticket.

One evening, when his mother told him that she had to save money so that he could go to the hospital, Andrei quietly went and put his only toy — an old plastic train — in a paper bag.

"We can sell it. It's my favourite train, but maybe another boy will play with it. I just want to get better and play with Maria again."

This is the struggle of a family that asks not for pity, but for hope. Every donation, no matter how small, is a step closer to treatment, to healing, to a childhood that Andrei can still experience.

Donate for Andrei. Help him get his childhood back.
