Hay&Carrots! Help Feed 1,500 Rescued Horses This Winter
Description
Hay & Carrots for the Winter - Help the Largest Horse Sanctuary in Europe
Centaurus Foundation is home to nearly 1,500 rescued horses and donkeys, living across almost 1,000 hectares of land in Poland.
It is the largest horse sanctuary in Europe - and one of the largest in the world.

Every winter is a challenge. But this winter is especially harsh.
And for animals who depend entirely on people, winter feed is life itself.
For 20 years, Centaurus has rescued horses from neglect, overwork, abandonment, and situations where they had nowhere else to go. Many of them are seniors, disabled, blind, or simply too fragile to survive without daily care. They move at their own pace now - and we make sure they finally have the right to do so.

Today, Centaurus cares for:
-nearly 1,500 horses and donkeys,
-thousands of other animals,
-and a unique 400‐hectare nature reserve, where rescued horses help restore natural ecosystems - a phenomenon recognized internationally!
Our main centers include:
Szczedrzykowice – 5 hectares
Modlimowo – 140 hectares
Przemków Landscape Park Reserve – 200 hectares + two additional 300‐hectare area!
Beyond that, we run rehabilitation centers, clinics, foster programs, and adoption networks across Europe.

Why do these animals need help?
Because every one of them was rescued thanks to people like you.
Some were breeding mares.
Some came from tourism, sport, or city carriages.
Some were simply “no longer useful.”
Many are elderly or have special needs.
They all survived because someone cared.
And now, in the middle of a harsh European winter, they need that care more than ever.

What does winter cost?
Feeding one horse or donkey costs about 1,500 PLN per month (roughly $375 USD):
hay, feed, farrier care, basic veterinary support, and stable staff.
For nearly 1,500 animals, that means over 2,000,000 PLN per month (about $500,000 USD).
And that does not include the costs of caring for thousands of other animals - cows, goats, pigs, rabbits, alpacas, llamas, ostriches, geese, peacocks, foxes, even camels - all rescued over the years.

Centaurus is a non‐profit.
Everything we do exists only because of donors.
“Hay and Carrots” is more than food.
It’s a symbol of survival for 1,500 horses who depend on us every single day.
It’s warmth, safety, and the promise that winter will not take away what they have finally gained: peace.
This winter, you can stand with them.
Your support helps us buy hay, feed, and winter supplies for the animals who have already been through too much.
Without donors, we cannot continue this work.
Without us, they have nowhere to go.
If you’d like to know more, our team is always here to talk.
Be with the rescued animals this winter.
They need you more than ever.
