Description

On 4 July 2025, at the first light of dawn, a sudden explosion shattered the silence of Via dei Gordiani. An LPG tanker, right in front of our sports club, blew up with a deafening roar that destroyed not only buildings and cars... but also our home. Villa De Sanctis is not just a sports centre. It is a refuge. A place where hundreds of children learn to play, to grow, to smile. Where whole families come together every day to experience sport, friendship and community.

Today, all of this is gone.

  • The tennis courts are littered with debris and rubble, rendered unusable.
  • The swimming pools, a symbol of summer for so many young people, are unusable.
  • Our summer camp, which just a few hours earlier was bustling with children and lively activity leaders, was evacuated just in time.
  • Shattered glass, damaged structures, destroyed equipment.

We were lucky. No one was hurt. But what we built with years of passion, hard work and sacrifice... now lies beneath the rubble.

Why we are asking for your help

Getting all this back on its feet will take a long time and enormous resources. And we cannot do it alone. Every euro

raised will go towards:

  • Restoring the sports facilities (tennis, five-a-side football, swimming pool)
  • Repairing structural damage to buildings and changing rooms
  • Ensuring the safety of children and members
  • Reopening the summer camp so as not to spoil the summer for those who rely on it

A small gesture, a big difference

If you’ve ever spent a happy afternoon at Villa De Sanctis, If you’ve watched your child grow up on these pitches, If you believe sport is more than just a game,

Give us a hand.

Share. Donate. Help us get back on our feet. Because Villa De Sanctis isn’t just ours: it belongs to everyone. And right now, it needs everyone.
