Hello, my name is Maria and I am a student at the University of Seville. Although it is very difficult for me to ask for help from people who perhaps don't even know me, I thought that I really have nothing to lose.

My family is from Romania, they live in very small villages where things like running water and general sewerage don't exist, everyone takes care of their own water source or builds themselves a toilet and sewerage if they can afford it.

My aunt was lucky at the time and together with my uncle they were able to build a nice big house, with these things that we take for granted. My uncle died several years ago and she has been in charge of maintaining the house, although it has been difficult because she earns a normal salary of about 400€ a month and nowadays the prices in Romania are similar to those in Spain. But she has always had a special affection for her house, she is a very detailed and hardworking woman, she is always creating new decorations with everyday objects and without needing a lot of money she has always kept her house spotless and beautiful.

Last Wednesday my aunt's house caught fire, leaving half of it in rubble. A couple of days ago a fire, believed to have been caused by a short circuit, burnt down half of her house. Unfortunately she had no insurance, as she barely managed to support herself and the house on her wages. Firefighters spent hours putting out the fire, which required up to 30 tons of water. We are lucky that she is okay and no one is hurt. However, she is devastated, she has lost much of her home and belongings, and what is left is now uninhabitable. The fire spread quickly through the roofs that were cemented with wood, so her house has no roof right now and they are trying to cover it with plastic until it is possible to rebuild it. We need to change the electrical installation (to be able to have light and receive water from the well), change doors and windows that have melted and exploded due to the fire, repair the heating system because there have been burst pipes... She doesn't even have holes or cooking material to feed the people who come to help.

That's why we are all trying to help her with what we can so that she can get out of this horrible situation and return to her normal life.
