  • Update: Khan Younis Cemetery Area Water Access and Food Parcels

In March and April 2026, and thanks to your generous donations, we completed a water access project in the Namsawi neighborhood, south Gaza.

This area is home to an informal, unregistered displacement camp at the cemetery area in Khan Younis, made up of around 450 tents in total. Water access across the camp is limited, and many families rely on scattered water points that can be far from where they live.

We extended water pipelines for daily-use water and installed a 1000-liter drinking water tank, serving approximately 100 families within the camp, significantly shortening the distance they need to walk to access water

Families outside this coverage area continue to rely on other water points in the camp

    Total cost: €870

This project directly reduces the daily burden of collecting water for these families, giving them more time, safety, and dignity. We hope to expand coverage to reach more families in the camp as resources allow. View the video here.

In June 2026, we distributed 40 vegetable parcels to families living in the same informal camp at the cemetery area in Khan Younis, at a cost of €25 per parcel. Each parcel included six types of vegetables and apples.

Thanks to a generous discount from the vegetable seller, we were able to stretch our funds further and also provide:

    • 1000 liters of drinking water
    • Medication for an elderly woman in the camp
    • Two baby formula supplies

    Total cost: €1,000

Description

Almost 2 million people in Gaza are facing severe hunger and famine, displaced Palestinians seeking refuge in UN schools or tents.

The intensifying Israeli aggression brings heightened brutality with an ongoing blockade on power, water, fuel, and food supplies in Gaza.

Despite the challenges, the local market still has some vegetables and legumes available, albeit at very high prices.

In November, as Vegans In Palestine and animal rescuers from Baladi Animal Rescue Shelter, we initiated a food parcel distribution effort, providing support to 77 displaced families in middle and southern Gaza.

Now, our goal is to support 1500 families (approx. 11000 people in need) dedicating thisVeganuary in solidarity with the people of Gaza.

How you can contribute:

  • a single donation to feed a family in Gaza providing them with food parcels containing vegetables, legumes, rice, and cooking oil,

  • organise vegan events in your area, with the proceeds directly deposited into Vegans In Palestine Campaign's donation link.

  • If you're vegan, dedicate your veganism this month to the people and animals in Gaza and raise as much money as possible from your networks using the donation link.

  • If you're not vegan, go Vegan and dedicate your journey to support the people and animals in Gaza by sending the link to this campaign to as many people as possible. Create a MONEY BOX for the donations raised by you.
