The Building of Martinhold Keep

Fundraiser goals:

- First/current goal: 5.000 € - architectural plans and building blueprints.

- Second/following goal: 200.000 to 300.000 € - execution of construction works.

For a long time, I have been dedicated to building knight-based and knight-focused communities, events, campaigns, and other related activities, with a single objective: to create or provide support for this kind of life to the wider public. Inspired by traditions and stories featuring knights, I resolved to make this vision a reality.

Over the past years, I have systematically advanced toward this objective: I have established my own knight units, rallied several other similar groups, clubs and companies across the country to this cause and some under my banner, established diplomatic relations with historical knight orders, and assumed control of a castle and other facilities.

To establish a primary base and command center for these operations, I have chosen the largest local — perhaps even microregional — old estate/manor, which is my family heritage. Located in the foothills of central Slovakia and not far from the geographic center of Europe (Kremnické Bane) and of Slovakia (Ľubietová), this establishment meets the best logistical and symbolic criteria for this cause. Inspired by stories from years long past, I named the building “Martinhold” (Martin’s keep/holding). I have designated the building to include:

1. Operational Section (Restricted/Internal operations/Affiliated access by invitation or authorization):

• The Commandery: headquarters and operational office reserved for leadership and strategic administration
• Logistical Support Areas: workshops, storage and essential facilities supporting the daily operations of the building. (Partially established.)

2. Public Section (Open access):

• The Refectory: an establishment serving food and refreshments to the public. (Fully established and operational.)

3. Affiliated Section (Access for the public by invitation or authorization):

• The Quarters: accommodations consisting of approximately 12 apartments for visitors, allies and other guests,
• The Assembly Halls: larger and smaller rooms designated for separate meetings, gatherings, assemblies and other larger-scale social events.
• The Archive & Vault: two additional chambers currently operating as a provisional museum and storage facility. (Partially established.).

With these facilities complete, Martinhold will be fully operational: able to financially sustain itself and to establish a necessary economic base to organize, conduct or support the knightly projects and initiatives on a continental and global level(s).

This first call is strictly focused on raising funds (5.000 €) to secure the acquisition of professional engineering and architectural construction blueprints. Once this foundation is laid, a secondary (and major) fundraiser (200.000 to 300.000 €) will be launched to fund the heavy structural works and secure items for the keep ́s operation.

For almost a decade now, I have driven the reconstruction and transformation of this site so that it can serve its new purpose. However, a work of this magnitude requires mobilization and integration of cross-sector alliances and resources. Therefore, I have resolved to issue this call — to reach out to all who recognize the weight of this objective, align with this execution, and stand ready to join forces in this grand quest.
