We are a family of seven who are forced to move to a new home. The bright side is that after years of saving and research and technical advice, it would be the opportunity to realize a project that we firmly believe in.

The project is about the construction of an energy-independent home, dependent only on renewable sources, starting from a property built in the 70s (in fact, more than 80% of properties were we live are built before the 90s and in any case, it would make no sense for the purposes of the idea of ​​"conversion" to build a new property).

The goal is to be achieved by applying the best solutions available on the market (photovoltaic, wind, solar thermal, etc.) but always with an eye on the wallet, evaluating the technologies with the best price/performance ratio and completely freeing ourselves from sources such as gas, petroleum, etc.

The home will become our home and will be truly lived in. The aim is to study - and possibly demonstrate - the actual feasibility of such an energy transition on a property dating back to the past and evaluate the actual conversion costs as well as maintenance in the years to come to understand in the field the actual relationship between benefits and costs, beyond advertising and "green" propaganda.

After months of research we have identified the right property, the cost of which would be covered for a little more than 60% by our savings, and the remaining 40% by a bank loan.

What is required from the fundraising is mostly for the cost of the "conversion" of the property, which obviously will require profound changes, sometimes even experimentation with little-known solutions, until reaching the optimal solution for each problem faced, solutions that will be published and shared online for the benefit of all, complete with projects, sheets and accounts.

The amount for the collection is established on the basis of precise calculations between purchase, costs and project estimates. Part of the funds

could be used for any unforeseen events. But collecting more than what is required gives us the opportunity to save on the mortgage and to expand research beyond what was planned, focusing on highly innovative solutions. This is what is missing to make a dream come true!
