Hello, dear kind-hearted people!

My name is Elena and I am the mother of a wonderful 12 years old boy named Alexandru. I am writing these lines with a tight heart but full of hope because I have reached a critical moment and I need your help.

Alex was recently diagnosed with a condition called keratoconus. This condition deforms the cornea and his vision is rapidly deteriorating. His condition is advanced and his vision is getting worse every day. Reading, sports, even recognising faces are huge challenges for him.

The only solution to stop the progression of the disease is a surgical procedure called crosslinking. This, together with the fitting of special contact lenses, will give him the chance to keep his sight and lead a normal life!

The total cost of the treatment (for the left eye, the right eye having already been operated on in July) and the remaining contact lenses to be paid for, amounts to approximately 1100 euros, an amount which, at this moment, is beyond our financial means.
