Hi my name is Robert Dawson and I’m a 23 year old singer/Songwriter from Limerick, Ireland.

When I was 3 years old I was put into the foster care system.my foster mam was the one who got me into music we would always sing Adele in the car! She passed away when I was 10 years old and my world crumbled. But I’ve always kept a strong hold on the amazing gift she gave me music.

My young adult life was very Messy ,my mental health crumbled, but music was always there. At 12 years old I started writing songs as a way of dealing with my pain and trauma my love of music and singing grew into something much more.

As an adult my mental health rules the majority of my life and music is my escape it’s what I’m good at it. In a world where everyone is better than me at everything else music is where I excel and where I feel like I belong. Putting my trauma into songs is helping me heal from my childhood trauma. In 2022 following a mental breakdown I was admitted into the psychiatric unit in UHL and I was diagnosed with a personality disorder called Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder it affects every aspect of my life except my music.

I find everyday things difficult because my anxiety and depression take over. I find it incredibly hard to keep a job and would love to be able to finance this project myself but I simply can’t, If I had home studio equipment it would open so many doors for me, I would be able to record higher quality music from home and release it myself giving me the freedom and resources to follow my dream and hopefully make a career for myself in music
