My name is Georgia and I am the mother of Raphael, an 8½-year-old boy from Greece.

Raphael suffers from an extremely rare genetic condition (YWHAG), which causes developmental and epileptic encephalopathy, seriously affecting his daily life and development.

This condition severely affects his development and daily life, but we continue to hope and fight for his future.

To date, there is no cure, but research has begun abroad and we hope that one day a cure will be found for these children, as well as for the serious neurological difficulties that affect his daily life.

To date, there is no cure for his condition.

However, there is hope.

In recent years, research has begun by scientists abroad, with the aim of finding a cure and a way to tackle the root of the problem and give children like Raphael a better future.

Meanwhile, Raphael is fighting his own battle every day.

In order for him to develop and enjoy a good quality of life, he needs ongoing support through therapies, medical monitoring and specialised care.

• supporting research into YWHAG

• continuing Raphael’s treatments

• medical travel and basic care needs

Raphael is a child full of love, smiles and strength.
