Hi, my name is Jarek and I’m 54 years old. In 2012, my life changed forever. I suffered an ischaemic stroke affecting the brainstem, which left me with quadriplegia and a complete loss of speech. I have been bedridden for 13 years and cannot even sit up unaided. Every day is a struggle for me, and my only support is my wife and children, on whose help I am completely dependent.

The biggest challenge I face is not being able to go outside. I live on the second floor, and the stairs are an insurmountable obstacle for me. I dream of the moment when I can feel the fresh air on my face and see the world beyond the four walls of my room.

A stairclimber is a device that could change my life. With it, I could navigate the stairs and enjoy moments in the fresh air. Unfortunately, the cost of such a device is beyond my means.
