Our Bichon Havanais male Mito (13.5 years) has within 2 weeks accidentally scratched a deep injury 2 times in the same place in his right eye, so we have had to go to the vet 5 times, 2 of which were during emergency hours.

Of course, we have an insurance on Mito, but they reduce the veterinary care amount by SEK 3,000 / year from the time the dog turned 7 years old. Stupid, but that's how it is. Now this amount is down to 10.000kr/year and we have had to be with stomach problems and pain in joints that required x-rays, so now it is empty until the annual renewal Feb 2025.

We live two adults and a dog on just one salary, so when there are extreme expenses like this it becomes extremely difficult for us.

Mito cannot be left home alone as he grew up with a canine friend who sadly died when Mito was 11 years old, so he is not used to being left home alone. He can be in the car cage for a while while we, for example, shop for food. He is also a more nervous individual (despite safe existence) who has difficulty with new environments (can't even redecorate here at home and move the sofa to the other side of the wall, then he gets anxious and confused), so he would not have felt good to be in a dog day care centre in older days and among lots of other dogs and unknown people. Mito's wellbeing is a priority for us, he is an extremely dear family member.

The debt for visits made incl. medication is up to 10.168kr, we have been helped with 6.000kr so are missing 4.000kr.
