Description
Hi — I’m Manuel (Niki) Navrbac. I’m 41, from Slovenia, and a father to a 22-month-old boy, Tim. My life was once ruled by heroin and cocaine; for many years I lived in dark places and survived multiple overdoses. By God’s grace I got another chance. I am now clean and committed to giving that chance to others.
I want to open a community house — a real, residential sanctuary in nature where people stuck in addiction can find practical, spiritual, and medical support. This will be a place of honest accountability, freedom of speech, and lived experience: people who have walked the same path will guide newcomers through withdrawal, recovery and reintegration.
What we offer:
Safe medical-assisted detox support (coordinated with medical professionals).
Residential program — structured daily life, meaningful work, peer mentorship, and spiritual practice.
Long-term pathway (1–3 years) for people who need time to rebuild: housing, job training, and community.
Small-scale, self-supporting operations: residents contribute through light local work (we already have food partners and local opportunities), while learning life skills and healthy routines.
Why it works: I’ve seen how environment changes outcomes. In desperate isolation, people choose substances. Put them in a supportive, engaging setting and they choose life. I know how to read people — who will commit to change, and who is here only for food or a bed. I want to bring structure back: discipline, mentorship and mutual accountability.
Why I need your help: I have the vision, the experience, and a group of people ready to be part of this community — but not the capital. The most urgent needs are: rent for a suitable house, utilities, basic repairs, and clearing small outstanding debts (electricity, deposits). The house I have in mind could hold 15–20 people. Food partnerships are in place, and volunteers can provide many services — but the first months need funding so the project can stabilize.
This project is called Blessed because every day is a new blessing — a chance to reconnect with God, with others, and with life. I believe with a small amount of capital we can transform many lives and prevent others from learning the hard lessons I did.
Our commitment to donors: transparent budgeting, regular updates from the house, and real stories of progress. Your donation will go directly to housing costs, medical and immediate needs for residents, and rebuilding the day-to-day operations that make recovery possible.
