Joanita’s Hope for women and girls in Uganda

Since its foundation in 2021, Joanita’s Hope has already taken in more than 100 women and girls who have suffered domestic violence or been cast out, enabling them to build a self-determined life in dignity and freedom. Within the project, the girls and women are welcomed into a supportive community, receive medical care and are empowered through a new outlook and training courses such as sewing, baking, carpentry and computer skills. 

Your donation goes directly towards food, new seeds, the rent for safe accommodation and the repair of sewing machines. This enables the women to sew and sell their creations again, and to build a self-determined life free from domestic violence within the project. Plans are also underway to build a well to provide access to clean water, as the community currently drinks from natural ponds and puddles.
