Description

Hello, dear benefactors!

I would like to begin by giving praise to God, Mary and Saint Joseph, as well as all our Guardian Angels and Archangels of our Family, for our entire lives and for all the graces we have received from Them through the Angels in human form here on earth.

Praise be to God!

First of all, I wanted to say that I am aware that fundraisers are organised here for very ill people/children/families, and all my life I have struggled with asking others for help or support; however, a time has come in our lives when I realised that God works through His Angels on earth, who are people with good hearts, and that since I honestly admit that we cannot manage on our own, perhaps it is worth taking the plunge and sharing our life story:) So....

First of all, I wanted to tell you a little bit about our family :)

We are a family of nine from Kraków; I, Weronika, am 39, my husband Karol is 42, and we have seven sons: Gabriel Józef – 13, Dawid Józef – 12, Maksymilian Józef – 11 years old, Dominik Józef – 9 years old, Ignacy Józef – 7 years old, and the twins Antoni Józef and Józef Michał are 5 years old.

As you’ve probably realised, dear Angels, all our children have ‘Józef’ as their middle name, and one has it as his first name. Yes. The patron saint of our family is Saint Joseph, whom we chose 13 years ago. And it is to Saint Joseph that we owe all the miracles in our lives, and the fact that, despite many trials and tribulations, we are still one family.

Our life’s adventure began in 2011 when I walked down the aisle with my husband Karol :)

My husband comes from a large family in Masuria; I’m from Kraków and have only one younger sister, and we met in Warsaw at work (many people joke that it’s right in the middle of the road).

Soon after, our beloved sons were born, My husband worked and still works, whilst I have been looking after the children for 13 years; they need emotional and educational support, as well as support from a specialist centre, as several of them have been assessed as requiring special educational needs and have other difficulties, and the process of raising them proceeds at a slower pace, as each of them needs an individual approach, care and dedication; yet we are one family, so inevitably there are often not enough hours in the day for the whole family to go out or travel somewhere.

However, the most difficult situation at the moment has turned out to be our housing situation, where in 2017, following the death of my beloved grandmother, we moved in with my grandfather at his invitation to look after him until his death, which occurred in 2021. The living space we use is 64 m². The house dates from the 1970s; the roof has no insulation, it is uninsulated, and from autumn to spring damp seeps in, meaning we have to renovate it from scratch practically every year. The plumbing and wiring are also old. To be able to live here properly, we would have to invest several hundred thousand zlotys, and we simply couldn’t afford that. My husband and I decided that the only sensible solution would be to sell the house and buy something in better condition. And that is exactly what happened. At the beginning of March this year, we sold my grandfather’s house, and on the eve of St Joseph’s Day, we signed the deed of purchase for a new home – though not in Kraków. The amount we received from the sale of my grandfather’s house was not enough to buy a new home for such a large family in Kraków. We began our search in the Małopolskie Province, and it turned out that we found a house where such a large family could live comfortably. We found this house in the Tarnów district. The house is lovely; it still has double-glazed wooden windows and isn’t insulated, but the roof is insulated. The house is well-maintained despite being 33 years old; there is no damp, and it will accommodate our whole family so that everyone can have a bit of space to themselves. The only drawback is that the house has no fence. The house actually cost about the same as we sold Grandad’s house for. We’re dreaming of the most basic panel fencing with a foundation, as shown in the photo. We need 120 metres of fencing plus an entrance gate and a side gate. We’ve calculated that the amount needed is 13,000 PLN. As we are moving from the big city to the countryside on 30 May this year – just over a week from now – for logistical reasons I will need to get my driving licence so that I can continue taking my sons to therapy sessions or to specialists, and do the big shop for such a large family whilst my husband is at work. A driving course in Tarnów costs 3,000 PLN.

And our final dream is to go to Masuria for a week with the whole family for the first time in 14 years (before my husband starts his new job in Tarnów) so that the great-grandmothers can meet their great-grandchildren and vice versa, and so that we can meet my husband’s family again after so many years. That would cost 4,000 PLN. Until now, we haven’t been able to afford to go anywhere with such a large family.

I know that 20,000 PLN is a large sum in these times when everyone is struggling in some way. However, we will be very grateful for any donation, and from the bottom of our hearts :) we thank you most sincerely, our beloved Angels in human form, and we bless you.

On behalf of all our donors who wish to help us fulfil these secret dreams, I shall commission Perpetual Masses for God’s blessing from the Bernardine Sisters at the Sanctuary of Saint Joseph in Kraków, in gratitude for your open, loving hearts, which know that everything we have in life—such as family, life, health, but also work, home, and even finances, is a grace given to us by God, and who multiply this grace by sharing it with others.

May God bless you all and your families!

In prayerful remembrance,

Weronika Niedźwiecka and family
