Description
My name is Serena and I have been rescuing dogs and cats from the streets for 17 years. Over the years, I have seen it all: abandoned puppies, injured and frightened animals, left to die whilst people looked on indifferently. Every time, I have done what I could, often with very few resources, relying solely on my time, my heart and a great deal of sacrifice.
But the truth is, it’s no longer enough. It’s not enough because every day there are more to save. It’s not enough because too many animals don’t have a safe place to recover, heal and finally feel protected.
That is why today I am fighting to realise the biggest dream of my life: to open a shelter and boarding facility for dogs and cats in Altofonte, in the province of Palermo. A real, safe, dignified place. A place where animals rescued from the streets can finally stop being afraid. A place where people can also leave their dogs and cats when they need to, knowing they will be loved and respected.
To complete the project and make all this possible, we need at least €30,000.
