Let's bring our paint and body shop back to life together!
Description
On 21 August 2025, a fire broke out and completely destroyed my small workshop. I used it to renovate vintage cars. The room was completely destroyed, along with a vintage Mercedes and all my equipment and tools.
All precautions had been taken: the car was half dismantled, the fuel tank and cables had been removed, as well as all flammable plastic parts. The fire must have started inside the closed profile of the chassis side member. After finishing the work, I waited a few minutes to check that nothing was burning (standard procedure), and then I went outside. After a while, I heard disturbing noises, and when I ran to the workshop gate, I saw that the car was half on fire. Despite my attempts to extinguish it, I was unable to control the fire without the help of the fire brigade, especially as it had already spread to the roof of the building. Unfortunately, this is the nature of work in body shops, where high temperatures are involved and fires are not uncommon (just type ‘car workshop fire’ into google... ).
I estimate the total losses at around PLN 60,000. Due to the fact that the building is quite old, it was not possible to insure it, so I can only count on myself and the help of people of good will.
I will use the money from the fundraiser to reimburse the owner of the burnt car (it does not belong to me) and to repurchase the burnt equipment and renovate the workshop.
Working on vintage cars is my passion, and bodywork is my trained profession. Thanks to my work, many vintage cars have returned to the roads and are now enjoyed by motoring enthusiasts.
Unfortunately, I am currently unable to cover the losses from my own budget, as I have been the sole breadwinner for my family for years (my wife and I have four children, including one son with autism)
I will be extremely grateful for any amount you donate :)
