Our child was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last year. Until now, we’ve had to give injections both day and night, which is exhausting for both the child and everyone else whenever the monitor beeped again. Sometimes, for some reason, the reading would spike during the night and we’d have to wake up several times to give an injection. The child and I were sleep-deprived, and having to get up and go to school wore the child down even more. However, we have now discussed this with the doctor and decided that a pump is best for the child and will keep the reading more stable. This is very important because diabetes also causes other health problems. So, I’ve decided to set up a fundraiser. The health insurance fund will cover part of the cost, but I have to pay the rest myself. The amount shown here includes part of the cost of the pump and the necessary accessories that go with it. We hope there are kind-hearted people out there who’d like to help.
