Hello, I am writing to you in all sincerity to tell you about my plan to start a business. I have 25 years’ experience as a construction worker, having worked on several temporary contracts followed by 14 years on a permanent contract. I started out as a labourer and assistant bricklayer; I am trained as a bricklayer and a finishing bricklayer,formwork and timberwork, whilst undertaking training at accredited centres. I then progressed to team leader, assistant site manager and finally reached my goal of becoming a qualified structural works site manager. Then came Covid and the company went into administration; a few months later, the business closed. I subsequently registered with Pôle Emploi,I completed a business start-up course with Activcreat and now I’m launching my own micro-enterprise as a sole trader in general masonry. With all the skills I’ve acquired, I’m confident in myself and my work. Using the funds I received when the company closed, I was able to buy some machinery and tools, and I launched my business on 10 August2021. I started out through word of mouth and got a few jobs, but two weeks later, whilst cutting a piece of metal at home, the cut-off saw slipped and severed all the tendons in my left wrist right down to the bone.I was hospitalised and underwent a six-hour operation, received 55 stitches and spent two weeks in hospital. I was discharged with a two-year sick leave, three years of rehabilitation, and loss of sensation in three fingers and half of the palm of my left hand. I was then recognised as having a long-term disability (RQTH) in 2023. Since then, I re-registered with France Travail. Now, as I can no longer do my job following my accident and can no longer use my left hand as before, I am obliged to set up a company as a manager.given what is required to start a general building firm with at least three workers on permanent or fixed-term contracts, I need capital to cover the running costs.My project is sound because I am an ambitious, serious person with many qualities and experience in this field. I am asking you to help me bring my project to fruition, as it is well worth the effort.
