We are Silvia, Julio and a baby due in December.

We are here to ask for help to make a dream come true: to be able to give birth together in the maternity home, in a quiet, silent place, without external stimuli, with soft light and according to the rhythms of nature. We will not be alone, there will be two midwives with us at all times, women with whom we will finish the journey of the pregnancy to arrive at that confidence and trust that will allow us to be as open as possible in the act of giving birth.

In Italy, home birth is still supported by few and partially reimbursed only in some regions (not in Veneto), the cost to be incurred for the birth is 2500 euros to which must be added the costs of midwife visits, on-call, meetings, post-natal visits and breastfeeding support (about another 1000 euros).

We believe that every woman has the right to be able to choose freely, without prejudice and economic differences, the place and method of delivery.

So why?

• We would like non-medicinalised, safe childbirth in the case of a physiological pregnancy. We would not want surgical, pharmacological and verbal interventions that are not strictly necessary
• we would like to be together and have privacy and confidentiality: before, during and after the birth
• we would like a safe and familiar space and a tub for water births
• we would like female midwives we know and who respect the natural rhythms of coming into the world
• we would like to give birth in a place full of love and understanding
