In the wake of the devastating storm, life in Valencia has changed dramatically. The floods have destroyed homes, businesses and livelihoods. Entire families are coping with material and emotional losses, facing a desperate situation without access to their homes, with few possessions and their basic needs unmet. Today, more than ever, they need our support.

Who am I? I am Darius Peter, from Catarroja, a member of this affected community and committed to the mission of helping those affected. Together with local volunteers, I am organising this fundraiser so that every penny raised makes a tangible difference to the lives of our families and friends.

Where will the funds go? To be as transparent as possible, here is a breakdown of how the funds raised will be allocated:

• Food and drinking water: To provide immediate aid in the form of food parcels and clean water to families who have lost everything.
• Temporary shelter: To help provide accommodation and safe spaces for those who have been displaced from their homes.
• Medicines and medical care: Covering the cost of medicines, medical treatment and psychological support for those who have suffered physical and emotional harm.
• Housing reconstruction: Supporting the rebuilding of homes so that families can return to the safety of their homes.
