A new start for a dad and his two children. A future for the bees.

A legacy for the next generation.

My name is David Pražák and today I am on my own with my two children – Honzík (8) and Leila (5) – and together we are building a new life in Crete.

Although we’ve found ourselves starting from scratch, one thing has remained the same: our love of bees.

We have several bee colonies, great determination and a dream to build a family apiary, a honey house and facilities that will allow us to continue doing what I’ve loved all my life and what I want to pass on to my children one day. Beekeeping has been part of my life for over 40 years.

I graduated from a vocational college in Nasavrky, followed by further training to become a beekeeping instructor. In the Czech Republic, I managed up to 150 hives and had the opportunity to pass on my experience to other beekeepers through lectures, courses and face-to-face meetings.

I want my children to grow up amongst bees, just as I did.

Together with them, I want to build a place where we can share our experiences with other beekeepers and, in the future, develop educational and beekeeping projects in Crete.

What the funds will be used for

At present, we lack almost all the equipment needed to develop our beekeeping.

We will use the funds raised for:

🐝 purchasing a honey extractor and honey house equipment

🐝 containers and equipment for honey processing

🐝 refurbishing the honey processing room

🐝 building a storeroom

🐝 increasing the number of bee colonies

🐝 basic operational equipment

🐝 creating facilities for future educational activities
