This campaign is dedicated to a mother in the Republic of Moldova who is raising her three young children alone in extremely difficult conditions. For more than two years, the family has been facing severe deprivation and insecurity.

After losing her job, the mother and her children were forced to leave their home without being able to collect their belongings. Later, in the place where they had tried to find temporary shelter, they were again thrown out by the children's father and his relatives, who refused to provide any form of support. They lived for a long time in a closet and only five months ago managed to move into a modest studio flat in a suburb of Chisinau.

Unfortunately, even this doesn't provide them with a minimum standard of living: they have no electricity and the bill to reconnect is 5650 MDL - an impossible amount to pay as the family can barely manage to feed themselves, often even struggling with hunger.

The older children go to school in Chisinau, but can't go to school for lack of money for transport and maintenance. The youngest doesn't go to kindergarten, and the mother can't get a job because of the deprivation they face - they don't even have proper clothes.

They now have to fight to get their food paid through the courts and turn to social services to get the material help they need. But these processes take time and their situation is urgent.

My family has witnessed the suffering that this mother and her children are going through. So far, we have been able to offer what support we can - food, hygiene products, financial help. The situation she is in is extremely overwhelming and painful, and we strongly believe that she needs prompt support.

That is why we have launched this campaign. All funds raised will go to the mother for:

• the payment of the outstanding bill and reconnection to electricity;
• basic food and hygiene;
• support to help children to go to school.
