My name is Alex, and Riley is a 9-month-old puppy, a German Shepherd mix who is more than just a companion to me – he is my soulmate. Unfortunately, Riley suffers from a serious hip condition, diagnosed as hip dysplasia, which affects his mobility and causes him pain. The only solution to give him a normal life is a surgical procedure called Total Pelvic Osteotomy (TPO).

TPO is a complex and specialised surgical procedure that involves reshaping the hip joint. The procedure involves realigning the acetabulum (the part of the pelvis where the hip joint is located) to provide better support and stability for the femoral head. This significantly reduces pain and prevents the progression of more serious problems, such as severe arthritis.

The doctor advised us to have the operation as soon as possible, ideally before Riley turns 10–11 months old, so that his hips develop correctly after the operation.

The cost of the operation is far beyond what I can afford, and time is running out. We have already accumulated debts trying to provide him with the best medical care, and any contribution, however small, would bring us closer to the chance of Riley leading a happy and pain-free life.
