Description

Hi everyone!

I’d like to reach out to you now and ask for your help!

One of the most important people in my life needs the community’s support on a long journey.

This is someone who, throughout their healthy life, has always helped others, always looked after others, or simply lent a helping hand in difficult times.

There were times when they helped others as an assistant during certain medical examinations, or cared for the homeless, sparing no effort.

Allow me to share our own story, the one that changed everything.

Every moment of it is true, full of trials and struggles.bBfuRs1UECosQaKi.jpg

My mother underwent surgery for a tumour on the floor of her mouth in 2008, followed by many rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. There were many hospital treatments, full of hope.

Unfortunately, her illness proved to be at an advanced stage, and we experienced failure. Time and again, the cancer cells prevailed.

During a series of operations, the specialists unfortunately decided, based on the results they had seen, that his tongue would have to be removed.

A replacement was created from his pectoral muscle.

We believed in recovery throughout, but after a short time, the jawbone was unfortunately also affected.

This was carried out by a team assembled after thorough professional preparation, involving a further operation.

In an operation lasting several hours, they attempted to replace the bone with a reconstructive plate. The lengthy surgical procedures were carried out by several specialists, after which a long-term solution had to be considered.

A tracheostomy was performed to secure the airway, and fortunately, it was closed again once the wound had healed.

During this operation, it became clear to us that he would never again be able to eat through his mouth; without teeth, he would be unable to chew or even taste food.

He no longer enjoyed sitting down with us for family meals.

The solution to this was a gastrostomy tube (PEG), through which he can feed himself and ensure his daily fluid intake.99UF3nQrE5Ughz9v.jpg

He lived his daily life as normally as possible, given his circumstances.

We, his family members, love him dearly and are his greatest supporters at every moment.STlkuriJOnMHpjae.jpg

In 2023, a routine examination revealed a metastasis in the bladder.

Unfortunately, there was no inpatient care available for this condition where we live, so they were able to help him at another hospital nearly 120 km away.

His doctors again attempted to halt the disease through surgery, then waited for recovery whilst relying on follow-up treatment.

Chemotherapy was administered locally at the rural hospital at intervals of several weeks.

We organised all her journeys so that she might have a chance of recovery.

Unfortunately, at follow-up examinations, the disease always seems to win😓qv5d9AdI7o7Dhr3Y.jpg

She has had several operations since then, has also received immunotherapy, and now we are once again on the brink.

She is currently a week past her fourth bladder operation. Unfortunately, the bladder was damaged during the operation. To aid wound healing, a catheter was inserted, which she now has to live with for 14 days. Tests are currently underway in relation to this

This involves a great deal of travelling.

Despite his illness, his immune system is strong, yet he currently weighs just 38 kg.

In order for him to get to tests or any medical consultations, we need to find a solution.

She cannot use the state ambulance service as her physical strength no longer allows it.

The cost of medication is low; it is mainly immune system boosters and vitamins that she needs.

This has been an ongoing process for a long time, and whilst we have been supporting him, I feel I must do this for him and for us, which is why we are now asking for your help.

With the support you provide, we will cover his travel costs, vitamins and immune-boosting supplements.

If you feel you or those around you can offer any kind of help in this regard, please support us as much as you can.

The additional expenses involved are becoming increasingly burdensome for the family.

Relying on your support, I hope it will be easier to ensure that he can attend his treatments and medical consultations.

As we have done so far, we can only continue to trust in his strong constitution and hope that his immune system will support his body.

It would be a great help if you could simply get in touch with us and offer your ideas to make things easier for our family.

If you’d like to help in any other way, please get in touch with me or support us in our fundraising efforts🙏🥰

Thank you for reading, and I’m confident that together we can make things easier🥰

Best wishes, Viki
