Description

Hello everyone,

my life changed in July 2022 when I unexpectedly suffered a medial lobe infarction (stroke) and almost didn’t survive it, as I was unfortunately only found three days later. At the time, I was 35 years old.

I was left with paralysis on my right side, slurred speech and no memory of who I was.

Since then, I have been fighting my way back to life every day; I managed to go from a wheelchair to walking with a cane, and to speak again (with the help of speech therapy and physiotherapy)...

THEN, UNFORTUNATELY

a year later, my condition deteriorated again, so that in July 2023 I was diagnosed with incomplete recovery from the stroke and a risk of having epileptic seizures at any time, and that I would remain disabled for life.

This led to severe depression, which I can now manage with medication. I also developed a pain syndrome that, on some days, physically incapacitates me.

I need daily help with personal care from relatives and a care service.

Since this turn of events, which has overwhelmed my life, I have been receiving a disability pension with a severity rating of 70% and two additional disability codes.

NOW TO MY PLEA: I require a special diet for my pain syndrome, the costs of which I must bear myself; and as I am physically and medically restricted and cannot leave my home unaccompanied, I am financially ruined. I need your help to keep fighting and to get out of this financial crisis.

Thank you for reading my story and for making a small donation to get things started, with more to follow. Please share my story.

Best wishes, Jennifer Maruhn

Towards the end, I will also be making a donation to a stroke charity
