Five mechanical engineering students at Technical University of Cluj Napoca, Romania (UTC), are working on building affordable prosthetic devices for people that cannot afford prosthetics over the next three years, using our knowledge, time, and love of engineering.

Having a prosthetic limb allows a person to regain their independence and dignity and allows them to live freely without the weight of constant limitation. Many people in need of prosthetics cannot afford them because of high costs and lack of availability. Our goal is to change this.

As students, we are excited to do research, prototyping, and testing, but the laboratory at the university does not provide adequate resources for us to create quality prototypes for this project without additional tools, materials, and equipment. Therefore, we have established this fundraiser as a way to raise money to purchase the tools, materials, and equipment needed to create prototypes based on our designs.

With your support, we will build better quality prototypes and conduct testing based on accurate designs to develop functional prosthetic solutions for those in need, adjusting the price for the absolute affordability.
