Help for Urgent Endometriosis Surgery: Let Špela Live Pain-Free Again

My name is Špela Žibert (born November 4, 1985), and I stand before you with a story that has tested me since my early youth. Today, I am asking for your help, as all medical options in Slovenia have been exhausted, and my only hope for a normal life lies abroad.

A Youth Marked by Loss

My life has never been easy. At the tender age of 12, I lost my father to cancer. Just five years later, when I was 17, this cruel disease took my mother as well. Overnight, I was left without parents, without their safe embrace and support, but I kept fighting. Unfortunately, my battle did not end there—a new one began, this time with my own body.

Chronic Illnesses and the Fight for Survival

In 2021, after severe health struggles, I was diagnosed with endometriosis—a full-body, chronic hormonal inflammatory disease—and adenomyosis. In Slovenia, I have already undergone four surgeries, during which they had to remove my uterus, cervix, both fallopian tubes, and my left ovary. Despite these radical procedures and the loss of my organs, the disease has not backed down.

My endometriosis has now also spread to my pelvis, bladder, and intestines, and likely to my right ovary as well. Furthermore, in all probability, I am suffering from neuropathic endometriosis.

In addition, I am also battling:

• Fibromyalgia (chronic, widespread pain throughout the entire body)
• Nodular euthyroid goiter (thyroid issues)
• A hernia

My medical condition worsened drastically when I had to undergo emergency surgery due to a severe infection and an abscess in my abdominal cavity. At that time, I almost lost my life due to a septic infection.

The Only Solution: Robotic Surgery in Romania

After five surgeries, my body is exhausted, covered in scar tissue, and in constant pain, as endometriosis lesions are still present on other organs. Doctors in Slovenia have done everything in their power, but our country lacks the equipment and specialists for advanced robotic endometriosis surgeries, which I urgently need for the safe and precise removal of the remaining lesions.

My only hope is a specialized robotic surgery in Romania, home to top experts who treat the most severe forms of this disease. This procedure would finally give me back a dignified life, free from daily suffering.

Financial Goal: €35,000

To achieve this, I urgently need to raise €35,000. Because the treatment must be performed at a specialized private clinic abroad, the costs are immense and entirely self-funded.

Here is the exact breakdown of how the funds will be used:

• Medical & Surgery Costs (€21,550): Specialized robotic surgery (€9,000), complex endometriosis excision (€3,000–€7,000), bowel resection (€2,000), pelvic nerve surgery (€2,000), MRI (€470), specialist consultation (€200), resection kit (€240–€700), blood tests (€80), and pathological biopsies (€100/piece).
• Travel, Accommodation & Local Expenses (€2,600): Return flights and a 14-day stay in Romania for myself and my companion, airport transfers, daily transport between our accommodation and the hospital, and meals (including my strict post-operative dietary needs).
• Rehabilitation & Medication in Slovenia (€3,240): At least 15 sessions of specialized physiotherapy (€750) and a 6-month supply of essential medications and hormonal supplements (DIM, progesterone cream, castor oil, digestive enzymes, probiotics, Butifar, Serrapeptase, Omega 3, NAC, and magnesium).
• Living & Dietary Costs during Recovery (€6,000): Since I will be completely unable to work during my 6-month recovery, I will need approximately €1,000 per month to cover basic survival needs and a strict, specialized gluten-free diet crucial for managing my condition.
