Who are we and what are we raising funds for?
We are members of the Nagykovácsi Volunteer Fire Brigade . We work as volunteers to protect the homes, families, environment and visitors to Nagykovácsi and Remeteszőlős. Now we need your help: together, we are raising 55 million forints to purchase a modern fire engine specifically designed for the unique geographical and infrastructural conditions of Nagykovácsi and Remeteszőlős.
The current situation.
At present, we are using a Ford Transit, which I’m sure most of you have seen. As this is not a proper fire engine, the vehicle’s limited manoeuvrability often presents us with serious challenges during call-outs.
In order to be able to provide assistance as quickly and effectively as possible in an emergency, a more modern, genuine fire engine – specifically designed for firefighting and technical rescue – is essential.
Why is this important to us?
It makes a real difference what equipment we arrive with when responding to an emergency – a new vehicle can save lives and homes. We want to ensure the utmost safety for both local residents and the volunteers serving with us.
What will the funds be used for?
We will spend the entire amount raised on the purchase of a bespoke fire engine built on a custom-manufactured Iveco Daily 4x4 chassis, as well as on its specialised rescue and firefighting equipment (thermal imaging camera, hydraulic cutters, lifting bags, hoses, breathing apparatus).
