A Dream, A Gift of Energy

Last year my life changed completely. I spent 19 days in the ICU, facing critical moments when I feared I wouldn’t see the dawn. Long nights, alone, clinging to music to find strength. On one of those nights, I had a dream: I was leaving the ICU with some tickets in my hand; someone had given them to me… they were to see DJ Boris Brejcha.

I’d always wanted to go to one of his gigs, but I never made it a priority. The daily grind, work, family… there was always something else I put first. But when life pushes you to the limit, you realise it doesn’t give you a heads-up, it doesn’t wait. Ever since I woke up from that experience, I knew I didn’t want to keep putting my dreams on hold.

I searched and searched, but Boris only played outside Spain, and it was difficult to fit it in with my responsibilities. Until three weeks ago, when I received a message: Boris Brejcha will be playing in Spain on 24 May.

The easy thing would be to get my card out and buy a ticket. But I felt something was missing, that this moment had to be different. I’ve never liked being given things as gifts, not even on my birthday, a date I never celebrate. But this year, I’ve decided to do something special: I want this dream to be built on collective energy, on the goodwill and affection of those around me—people I’ve once done a favour for or simply made smile during a difficult time.

It’s not about the money, but the meaning. Every contribution isn’t just a donation, but a way of sharing a wish, a positive vibe, a reminder that life is meant to be lived. I want to feel that this concert isn’t just an event, but a symbol of change, of love, of support, of learning.

My birthday is on 15 May, the concert on the 24th. This year, instead of replying “nothing” when asked what I want for my birthday, I’ll say this: I want anyone who wishes to do so to do their bit for this dream, with energy, with intention, with a desire to celebrate life together.

It’s not the money that matters here, it’s the thought and knowing that you’re there, even though we haven’t seen each other for a while.
