Description

Dear supporters,

I am writing to the public today in a desperate situation, to save my mother and our livelihood from ruin.

My father passed away recently, completely unexpectedly – just 16 months before his well-deserved retirement. He had been faithfully employed at the same company for over 38 years. Despite this lifetime of hard work, we now face financial ruin: due to legal provisions, 65% of his severance pay (a sum of €56,000) was withheld, as he had not yet reached the retirement age.

(And my little friend 🐶 had to leave us too, just two days after my father’s death 😭)

This massive financial loss has hit us in the midst of a terrible run of bad luck. My mother is hard of hearing and relies on my support. Without these funds, we can no longer afford the urgent payments for our house. We are on the brink of losing our home and, with it, everything my father built up over decades.

This isn’t about luxury, but about sheer survival and preserving our livelihood. I’m fighting with every means at my disposal to be there for my mother, but without financial help we won’t be able to settle the impending claims in time.

Every euro helps us to avert the loss of our home and regain a sense of security. Please help us to bridge this unfair gap and enable my mother to remain in her own home with dignity.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for every donation and every shared post.

FINANCIAL EMERGENCY FOLLOWING A SERIES OF TRAGEDIES

Just under €31,000 remained from my father’s severance pay and holiday pay. My mother used this sum to cover the funeral as well as the associated costs and liabilities. It was a matter close to her heart to settle everything properly and to sort out my father’s estate immediately and independently.

But an unprecedented run of bad luck followed: just two days before the planned sale, my father’s car suffered engine failure and had to be sold for export at a price far below its value. In the same week that my father and my beloved dog died, my divorce was added to the mix. Suddenly, I was faced with huge bills for lawyers, the court and the pet cremation.

To be there for my mother, I moved back into my parents’ home. I extended the living space so that I could support her round the clock. My mother is hard of hearing and wears a cochlear implant; without my help, she wouldn’t even hear the alarm clock in the morning for her early shift.

The emotional strain is enormous for both of us. On top of that came notary and court fees, which alone swallowed up 7 to 10% of the severance pay. There simply wasn’t enough money to go round. As I am currently undertaking a distance-learning course, I am now finally reaching my financial limits.

I have never done anything like this before and am deeply distressed. I can barely find the strength to be the support my mother needs. I therefore urgently ask for your help.
