Help Me Renovate My First Apartment Into a Long-Term Home
Help Me Renovate My First Apartment Into a Long-Term Home
Description
At 35, after years of careful saving, budgeting, and putting life on hold, I finally achieved something I’ve dreamed about for a long time: I bought my first apartment. I did this on a single income, and while I’m incredibly proud, I’ve realized that the apartment needs much more work than I anticipated.
The place is technically livable—but just barely. Everything is very old, and if I live in it “as-is,” I’ll be facing much bigger and more expensive problems down the road. There are already leaks, aging pipes, outdated wiring, and other signs that time has taken its toll.
I’m trying to do this right from the beginning: to fix what needs fixing now, so I can create a safe, functional, and lasting home.
What Needs to Be Done:
- Re-piping the plumbing (due to existing leaks and age)
- Re-wiring outdated electrical systems
- Renovating bathrooms
- Upgrading the kitchen
- Replacing all windows
- Painting the entire apartment
- Installing new flooring
- Updating the bedrooms and living room
I’m not sure what the total will be but I’m estimating €30,000 for basic repairs. I’ve already stretched my finances just to make this purchase possible, and I don’t have the resources to take on all of these renovations alone.
This is not easy to do. I was raised by a single mom after losing my father as a baby, and I’ve always tried to handle things on my own. But this time, I’m reaching out.
If you’re able to help—even just a little—I would be deeply grateful. Every contribution, share, or kind word helps bring me closer to making this apartment the long-term, stable home I’ve worked so hard for.
Thank you for reading and for being part of this journey.
With love and gratitude,
Kimberly
