Description

Support this important travelling arts and culture festival in Avellino and Irpinia, and if you wish, you can also take part in the Japanese poetry contest by creating three haiku, which you should send in a Word file, along with your personal details, to [email protected]

The three best poetic entries will be awarded a dinner for two (worth €100), a breakfast for two (worth €25) and a takeaway dessert for two (worth €15)

at the haute cuisine Japanese restaurant Barà, run by chef Andrea Rullo, located in Avellino.

The haiku is a traditional form of medieval Japanese poetry, consisting of a three-line verse.

It must contain a seasonal element (or its evocation) and a mood (or its evocation).

with cherry blossom petals,

even the soup and the pickled fish.

The contest’s closing ceremony will take place on 28 May 2025 at 8.30 pm in the presence of guest artists and the poetess Rossella Tempesta, artistic director of the Irpinia Poetica event.

During the evening, there will be a reading of the best haiku submitted, musical entertainment, and, by reservation, guests may take part in a tasting dinner specially created for the occasion by chef Andrea Rullo.
