🚨 EMERGENCY IN BUNIA – A GESTURE TO SAVE AND PROTECT 🚨

Hello,

The town of Bunia, in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is currently facing a very difficult situation due to the Ebola outbreak affecting Ituri province.

According to the latest available information, the situation is worrying: there are reports of around 900 suspected cases and over 220 suspected deaths in the DRC.

Behind these figures are families, children, healthcare workers, people in lockdown, people who are afraid, and communities in need of practical help.

Faced with this emergency, we do not want to stand by and watch.

I am launching a solidarity campaign to help the people of Bunia through simple, swift and practical actions.

The aim is to raise €1,000 to purchase essential protective and hygiene equipment locally, in line with the needs identified by a local health organisation.

With €1,000, or approximately $1,160, we will be able to purchase, based on local prices:

✅ face masks

✅ hand sanitiser

✅ soap, gloves or other useful products as required

✅ and set aside a small amount for local transport or distribution costs

As a guide, if prices are confirmed on site:

• 50 masks cost around $5
• 100 bottles of hand sanitiser cost around $200

With €1,000, we could, for example, buy approximately:

• 1,000 masks
• 400 bottles of hand sanitiser
• and keep some for transport, local expenses or other products requested by the health organisation

The funds will be sent to a trusted local contact, who will be responsible for handing the money over to a health organisation and/or purchasing the necessary products directly in Bunia.

We want to act responsibly and transparently. Proof of purchase, photos of the products and a report on the aid provided will be shared.

You can contribute €5, €10, €20, €50 or more, as your heart dictates.

Even a small donation can be a huge blessing for a family, a carer or someone in lockdown.
