Give Refugee Families the Tools to Learn. Even a Small Gift Can Change a Life.

My name is Bruna Piccolo, and I am one of the educational training leaders with HumAHive in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya.

Here, thousands of children and families live in tents, without safe homes, clean water, or even the simplest tools for school. Many young girls are forced to drop out of education because of early pregnancies or HIV infections, not because they lack the will to study, but because they’ve never been given the knowledge or protection to stay safe.

And yet, every day, I see how strong their determination to learn is.

Can you imagine trying to go to school without a single pen, notebook, or even food to keep you going? That is the reality for so many in Kakuma. But they still show up, eager to learn, because they believe — like we do — that education is the key to a better future.

That’s why we began this project at HumAHive: to deliver educational trainings (especially for women and girls on sexual safety and health), and to provide the most basic resources, books, pens, notebooks, clean water, and food, so children can study and build a future with dignity.
