Description
The Romanian Transplant Association (ATR) - the only NGO in Romania that groups and represents transplant patients in need of transplantation (regardless of the type of transplant) and patients on dialysis programme, with legal personality since 1996 and national coverage. It is run on a voluntary basis by its members. The organisation works to improve the quality of life of the patients it represents (access to appropriate treatment, safe and quality medical services; access to social protection, defence of the rights generated by the chronic patient status), to develop transplant activity (pro-donation campaigns, promotion of transplant activity results) and provides information support and guidance for patients in dialysis and in need of transplantation.
